The book was good. It was well argued and interesting although perhaps a little dense at times, and dry and academic as well, not that those are necessarily bad qualities. Caplan's argument, that most votors are irrational rather than ignorant is compelling. It is an interesting book to read in this interesting time. I suppose according to Caplan all elections are interesting times in terms of voter irrationality. I think he misses some key points but the book remains thought provoking. And I believe that human irrationality is not something one can discount or eliminate.
I had this book before the last election but did not get around to reading it until now. No mind. Signs of irrationality are everywhere. But then again, that is exactly what makes humanity, and the governance of humanity so interesting, and no one has ever accused me of being overly rational.
