In a typical American grocery store, blueberries, cherries, and strawberries are signs of summer, flown in regularly from whereever they happen to be in season. However, in the reality of any one region’s weather and seasons, they do not usually overlap.
Here in the Hudson Valley of New York State we are truly fortunate this year in that the strawberries, cherries, and blueberries are all in season at the exact same time and are available for picking at local farms on July 4th.
This truly is a cause for celebration.
