I hope I've learned a little something from watching Celeste put together the amazing planters she did for me last year.
I somehow feel I have to live up to the standards she set, but I also want the planters to have my own stamp, to be more "me", whatever that means.
I'm kind of working on them in bits and pieces between work on the other flower beds and the general plantings around the house, depending on what I find at each foray to one of the local nurseries. The only problem with this approach so far is that I can't necessarily find a particular plant again if I decide I really like the effect it creates. Hopefully this will help spark more creativity. It may just lead to overblown messiness.

These are great, Mardel! I’m letting my husband do the planters this week — both to buy me some time and to encourage his burgeoning interest in gardening. But I’m finding it very hard not to shout out from the backseat . . .
Amazingly, my friend Nicole (of horticultural tour fame) was only interested in planters like this because she’s going to put a whole bunch of them together. Having focused on many yesterday, I can say that these are lovely!
Well done! Very pretty assortments. I especially like the mixture of shades of green.
Kristin, I have a group of three, but Im not as happy with them. Getting happier, but not as happy. I should have just gone out early in the season and purchased six times as many plants…but wait the sun is not the same on all the pots. That wouldnt work.
Methinks I obsess too much.
