A Couple of Highlights From My Morning Walk

Written by

Monday rolls around once again and my to do list is long this morning.  And yet it is April in East Tennessee, and even the simplest walk down my neighborhood street is filled with beauty.

We must remember to celebrate this, even the simplest of lovely things.

Ah, dogwood winter. Soon to be followed by blackberry and redbud winter (redbud my fav.) I have always known it isn’t safe to plant frost sensitive stuff before dogwoods, although I think May 10 is the actual “last frost date.” I have to say, I love living in palm trees but I do miss all the blooming trees in spring (although my Claritin need has decreased considerably.) I love dogwood. And the other flower is phlox, perhaps? I can almost smell it’s sweet fragrance.

Oh, my Claritin needs are increasing. I guess I’ve been in Tennessee long enough for the allergies to react.

Yes, dogwood and phlox. I don’t have phlox in my front yard yet. I’m torn between wanting it and not wanting it because it is in every other front yard.
