Sweet

November is date season, a heady indulgence which appeals to my sweet tooth. Dates, after all are like candy masquerading as fruit.  No other treat is really necessary.

Of course, then Thanksgiving rolls around, and Texas girl that I still am, I cannot imagine making a Thanksgiving dinner without pecan pie, even though I no longer have those hard shell native Texas pecans.

No traditional pecan pie maker I.  The pecan topping was always my favorite part, so years ago I started making this all-pecan version.  The pecans are wrapped in a rich sweet caramel.  Candy masquerading as Pie.
