Knitting Update

The 5-hour flight from Atlanta to Portland offered a prime knitting opportunity, and the first fingerless mitt was (mostly) finished.  I had forgotten how much I enjoy two-color stranded knitting.

Apparently not enough however to start the second mitt on the flight home. Starting somehow always seems a bit more fiddly and so it seemed prudent to wait until I got home.

I really like those. Can you give more details, yarn and pattern? I always have a hard time doing the thumb, so do you have a trick to share? Hope you had fun on your trip

I haven’t done the thumb yet, just have temporary stitching in place. I’ll do both thumbs at the same time and give an update then.

That’s a great pattern, especially in those colours. I’ve got pair of colourwork fingerless mitts on the needles, where they’ve been for far too long. I did the first pair to practice two-handed colour work but apparently felt I’d mastered the technique sufficiently to take a very long break. Have to get back to those before too long.

Beautiful! Feeling kind of special since I saw the first one being knitted. 🙂 I agree about wanting to be alone in a quiet place while I get something started. Once it’s “on the needles” it’s off to the races. Can’t wait to see the pair together.
